KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysia saw a drop in Covid-19 cases to 15,549 today, taking the cumulative total to 2,082,876.

Yesterday, 17,577 cases were logged.

Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said Sarawak topped the list of new infections with 2,929, followed by Johor (2,208), Selangor (1,995), Sabah (1,395), Penang (1,375), Perak (1,120), Kelantan (1,214) and Kedah (1,073).

The states and Federal Territories that saw less than 1,000 cases are Terengganu with 755, followed by Pahang (634), Kuala Lumpur (382), Melaka (263), Negri Sembilan (131), Perlis (33), Putrajaya (31) and Labuan (11).

Meanwhile, occupancy for non-intensive care beds stand at 68%, while occupancy for ICU beds is at76%.

A total of 77.5% of the adult population is vaccinated, while 92.9% has received at least one dose.

Of the overall population, 55.5% is fully vaccinated, while 66.9% has received one dose. – The Vibes, September 18, 2021
